OBJECTIVES
The aim of this webinar is to raise awareness among EU Member States and countries with which Europol has operational agreements of the potential of Europol to improve the intelligence picture and to initiate criminal investigations to combat firearms (weapons and explosives) crime in the EU.
By the end of this webinar, the audience will be able to:
- discuss the role of EMPACT FIREARMS in promoting the exchange of information and the improvement of the intelligence picture;
- explain the important role of the National Firearms Focal Points (NFFPs) in the exchange of information and their functions;
- identify Europol's role in the exchange of information on firearms crime through its Information Exchange System and the products produced by analysis;
- describe the type of information that needs to be collected at national level to improve the intelligence picture and to initiate criminal investigations to combat firearms crime (weapons and explosives) in the EU;
- list Europol's capabilities to support the investigation of firearms crime (weapons and explosives);

1. Law enforcement and customs officials from EU Member States and countries with which Europol has operational agreements involved in the detection and investigation of firearms crime (weapons and explosives). 2. Law enforcement officials working in National Firearms Focal Points (NFFPs) of the EU Member States and countries with which Europol has operational agreements. 3. Law enforcement officials working in Europol National Units. 4. Staff members of EUROJUST, FRONTEX and INTERPOL handling firearms crime cases.
