OBJECTIVES

This Exchange‑bite aims to share the knowledge and experience gained during the CEPOL Exchange Programme, with a focus on strengthening cooperation between police forces of the participating countries through the exchange of relevant information to combat arms trafficking. It also provides an overview of the Portuguese model for the control of firearms and ammunition.

By the end of this exchange-bite, the audience will be able to:

  • Recognise differences in best practices applied across countries;
  • Understand the distinct criminal intelligence models used in Portugal and Poland;
  • Identify the opportunities and benefits offered by the CEPOL Exchange Programme;
  • Compare Portuguese and Polish approaches to weapons‑related criminal investigations;
  • Explore possibilities for cross‑border cooperation and information exchange on arms trafficking;
  • Enhance their overall knowledge of this thematic area.
