OBJECTIVES

The aim of the webinar is to provide an overview on the nature and extent of cigarette counterfeiting operated by OC in the EU; present criminal trends and enforcement challenges; raise awareness of the support that Europol can provide to Member States in investigations into illicit trade of tobacco products. Upon completion of the activity the participants will be able to:

• Get acquainted on the nature and extent of cigarette counterfeiting operated by OC in the EU;
• Be aware of the criminal trends and enforcement challenges;
• Be informed about the support that Europol can provide to Member States in investigations into the illicit trade of tobacco products;
• Enhance cooperation with Europol, as well as with other LEAs and IBOA in the EU.

TARGET GROUP

Senior law enforcement officers (police, border police, customs), judiciary (prosecutors) leading the investigation /detection of counterfeit or pirated goods.
