The Cookies policy explains what cookies are, how they are used, and your choices regarding cookies.

Please read this policy in conjunction with the privacy notice on LEEd, which sets out additional details on how the personally identifiable information is used and explains your various rights as data subject.

What are cookies?

Cookies are small pieces of text sent by your web browser by a website you visit. A cookie file is stored in your web browser and allows the site or a third-party to recognise you and make your next visit easier and the site more useful to you. LEEd is build using Moodle and essentially, cookies are a user’s identification card for the Moodle servers. Web beacons are small graphic files linked to the server hosting LEEd that allow CEPOL to track the use of LEEd and related functionalities. Cookies allow CEPOL to serve you better and more efficiently, and to personalise your experience on LEEd.

Cookies can be "persistent" or "session" cookies.

How Moodle uses cookies?

Moodle uses cookies to helpdetermine and identify repeat visitors, the length of time each user spends on any particular area of LEEd site, and the specific functionalities that users choose to use.

Moodle uses both session and persistent cookies to run LEEd. More specifically:

·         Loglevel is a persistent cookie that collects data on user interaction with LEEd's video-content;

·         1739529214/jsrev is a persistent cookie. Besides authentication, other website features made possible by persistent cookies include: language selection, theme selection, menu preferences, internal site bookmarks or favorites, among many others. On your first visit, the website is presented in default mode. During your visit, you select your preferences and these preferences are remembered, through the use of the persistent cookie, the next time you visit the site.

·         MoodleSession is a session cookie. This cookie must be allowed for Moodle to work. It is only used when you are logged in to Moodle or your browser is open. It remembers your username between pages and provides a bit of consistency.

·         MoodleTenant 1 is a session cookie with expiry time after 2 months, and serves to hold the id of the last tenant that was associated with the current user. It is set when the user logs in and we find their tenant. After user logs out and then returns to the login page we know which tenant they belong to and display the login page in the style of their tenant. This cookie will also be set if you go to the tenant-specific login page (as admin you can go to "Manage tenants", there is a column with URLs of the tenant login page).

What are your choices regarding cookies?

If you'd like to delete cookies or instruct your web browser to delete or refuse cookies, please visit the help pages of your web browser. Please note, however, that if you delete cookies or refuse to accept them, you might not be able to use some or all of the features LEEd offers. You may not be able to log in, store your preferences, and some of the pages might not display properly.
